# Activating a template

After you create a template you can activate it. Activation means that Equipme will use your version whenever the event occurs. You can deactivate a template at any time if you want to return to the standard version or if you are updating the content.

This gives you full control over when your wording is used and allows you to manage communication without changing the underlying workflow of the system.
