# Linked Services – build device bundles in minutes

**What is a Linked Service?**\
\
A Linked Service ties several stand‑alone services (e.g. a MacBook, a monitor and a USB‑C adapter) into one ready‑to‑order package. Customers see a single product tile in the marketplace, but can – if you allow it – un‑tick optional items or add variants. Typical scenarios are POS terminals with six hardware parts, a workplace‑as‑a‑service kit, or simply making sure a power supply is always ordered with a laptop.

1. **Open the primary service**\
In *Service Portfolio* choose the item that will lead the bundle (e.g. *MacBook Pro*) and switch to the new **“Linked Services”** tab.
2. **Add components**\
Search the services you want to include and hit **“+”** to attach them.

1. **Mark mandatory vs. optional**\
Tick *Mandatory* when an accessory must always ship; leave it blank when the buyer may deselect it. Save – you’re done.

### How it works in the marketplace

In the marketplace, the primary service tile shows a **Linked Services** section. Mandatory components are pre-selected and locked; optional ones can be toggled. If something’s misconfigured (inactive, missing offer), the item is greyed and a warning explains why the bundle can’t be ordered until fixed. Pricing is shown as one aggregated total for everything currently selected; individual line prices are not shown in this view.

### 4. Processing & fulfilment

Each linked component lands in your fulfilment queue as a **normal, separate service order** - pick, pack, ship, confirm just as you do for any other service lines.

Once delivered, each component shows up as a **separate asset** in the inventory.

* A **link icon** and the **Linked Services** tab let you quickly identify related assets.
* Despite the linkage, every service is fully independent—you can cancel, renew, or swap one component without affecting the others.
* Each item runs on its own lifecycle and can have different end dates if needed.
