# Structuring Your Service Portfolio with Categories

A well-organized service portfolio is essential for managing your company’s digital workplace efficiently. Categories in Equipme help you **structure your services clearly and logically**, making it easier for administrators and service owners to maintain oversight as your portfolio grows.

When creating services, add-ons, or foundation services in Equipme, you can assign them to **Categories** that support **up to three levels**. This layered structure allows you to mirror your internal organization or logical groupings precisely. For example:

This flexibility helps you:

✅ Keep your service catalog organized as your offerings expand\
✅ Ensure logical grouping for easier management and updates\
✅ Align your service structure with your company’s needs and governance standards

You can manage Categories within **Service Portfolio > Categories** in Equipme, helping you maintain a clean, scalable structure that supports your service management processes effectively.
