# Templates in the Marketplace

Assigning templates (equipment packages) in the Marketplace and typical reasons why a template cannot be ordered.

**Templates** are predefined packages of several services, e.g. "Standard office workplace" with laptop, monitor, headset and software. They save time and ensure consistent equipment. You create templates in [Template management](/dokumentation/offer-management/template-management.md).

## Assigning a template

1. Marketplace → **"Templates"** section → open a template (or "Show all").
2. Under **"Services"**, select or deselect individual services using the checkboxes.
3. In the summary, set the "Quantity" and "Preferred delivery".
4. Optionally **"Use free inventory first"**: existing free warehouse stock is used first, then pre-ordered goods; only after that is a new order placed. As long as this option is active, no linked services can be assigned.
5. Click **"Assign"** and choose the recipients.

Missing base services are requested automatically as well.

In self-service, employees cannot order templates. Templates in the Marketplace are **never assigned automatically**. Only the onboarding templates created directly at a [location](/dokumentation/organization/locations.md#template-tab) or a [group](/dokumentation/organization/groups.md) apply automatically; they do not appear in the Marketplace (see [Template management](/dokumentation/offer-management/template-management.md)).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://hub.equipme.io/dokumentation/procurement/marketplace/ordering-templates.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
