# The employee self-service

The employee self-service in the "My workspace" section: view your own equipment, request work equipment, tickets and your own profile.

**Path:** Sidebar → **"My workspace"**

In the **self-service**, employees manage their own equipment: they see what is assigned to them, request new work equipment and report problems.

**How to get there:** The self-service is available to everyone at the top of the sidebar in the **"My workspace"** section. Employees without further roles land directly on "My equipment" after signing in. Administrators and managers find "My workspace" above their usual menu items and don't need to switch.

## "My workspace" in the sidebar

| Entry                | Content                                                                                                                                               |
| -------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **"My equipment"** | Your assigned devices, licenses and services plus (on desktop) your profile → [My equipment](/dokumentation/self-service/my-services.md) |
| **"My Marketplace"** | Request new work equipment for yourself → [Requesting in the self-service](/dokumentation/self-service/requesting-in-self-service.md) |
| **"My tickets"** | Your support requests in Equipme Operate (only with an active ticket system) → [Support requests and tickets](/dokumentation/self-service/tickets.md) |

Further entries, e.g. the company's own links such as the intranet or IT policies, are further down in the sidebar. You can create a new ticket at any time via **"Support" → "Support request"** in the header bar.

## Your profile

On desktop, your profile is shown to the right of **"My equipment"**:

* **Person card:** Photo (via "Change image" / "Remove image"), name, position, status, "Departments", "Groups", "Supervisor", if applicable "Representative", and your mobile number.
* **"My locations":** Your company location and, if applicable, your home office. With the selection ("Choose your default location for new services.") you decide which location is the default for new services. If your home office is missing, you can create it via **"Add a home office location"**, if your administrator allows this. The address is stored in your profile and used for future home office deliveries.
* **"Confirmations of receipt":** If a service is waiting for your confirmation, it appears here.
* **"Approvals":** Your own requests in the "Pending" and "Completed" tabs. A click shows details and history.

Further profile data such as name, mobile number, location or supervisor is maintained by your administrator or the HR system.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://hub.equipme.io/dokumentation/self-service.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
