# Requesting in the self-service

Requesting new work equipment as an employee via "My Marketplace": delivery address, justification, approval and status tracking.

**Path:** Sidebar → "My workspace" → **"My Marketplace"**

In "My Marketplace", you see the offers that your company has approved for employees. Which ones these are can depend on your department or group.

## How to request a service

1. Search for the service or find it via categories and open it.
2. Choose options and an offer. If offered, use **"Assignment"** to decide whether the service is assigned to your company location or your home office.
3. Click **"Request approval"**.
4. In the **"Delivery address"** dialog ("Please select where you'd like to receive this order."), choose one of the offered addresses:

   * **"Company (Work location)"**: delivery to your company location,
   * **"Home office"**: delivery to your home office address,
   * **"Custom address"**: enter a different address.

   Your company decides which options you see; in addition, only addresses the offer delivers to are shown. If you don't have a home office address yet, you can create it right here via **"Define a home office delivery address"** and use **"Set as default delivery address"** to keep it for future requests. Click **"Confirm"** to continue.
5. If your company requires it, briefly explain in the **"Justification"** dialog what you need the service for. Depending on the setting, this is optional or mandatory.
6. The message "Thank you" shows that your request has been received.

Basic services that your service requires are automatically requested as well.

## What happens next?

1. Your request goes to the responsible person for **approval**, e.g. your supervisor. Some offers are approved automatically.
2. After approval, the service is **ordered** and delivered.
3. You can see the progress under **"My equipment"** (status "Approval pending", "Ordered", "In delivery", "Active") and in your profile under **"Approvals"**.
4. You receive emails when your request has been approved ("… ordered") or rejected ("… cancelled", with justification).

## Frequently asked questions

**The button shows "Not approved".**

The service has not been approved for the self-service or is not intended for your group. Contact your administrator.

**I don't see any prices.**

Your company has hidden the price display in the self-service.

**I don't see "My Marketplace" or I get "Access denied".**

The self-service has not been enabled for you. Ask your administrator for the self-service permission.

**The offer is not available for my home office address.**

The offer does not deliver to the country of your home office address, so the "Home office" option is missing in the "Delivery address" dialog. Choose delivery to your company location.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://hub.equipme.io/dokumentation/self-service/requesting-in-self-service.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
