# Registration and sign-in

Registering with Equipme Pro as a provider or supplier (full Pro access or via a customer's invitation), signing in, single sign-on with Microsoft, trial period and common sign-in problems.

You reach Equipme Pro via its own address, separate from the customer portal. Here you register your company as a provider and then sign in with your account.

## Register as a provider

1. Open the Equipme Pro registration page and create a user account. Use your **business email address**. Addresses from free email or disposable email providers are rejected.
2. After the account is created, the wizard **"Almost done—Complete setup for Equipme"** starts automatically with three steps:

| Step                           | Content                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           |
| ------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **"Customize your workspace"** | Choose the "Portal language". Enter your web domain under "Company domain" and click **"Find branding"**: equipme suggests a logo, favicon and brand colors. Choose a color and click **"Apply"**. With **"Skip"** you continue without branding. |
| **"Set your location"** | "Company name", "Country" and address of your company (required fields are marked with \*). |
| **"Add team members"** | Optionally up to five email addresses of colleagues who receive an invitation ("+ Add additional employees"). |

3. Click **"Done"**. equipme creates your company, applies the selected branding as your theme and signs you in.

With **"Continue later"** you pause the wizard. You are signed out and continue the setup the next time you sign in.

{% hint style="info" %}
You can change branding, logo and colors at any time under "Administration" → "Customer Portal Settings" → "Theme". See [Customer portal (white label)](/pro/customers/customer-portal.md#theme).
{% endhint %}

### Trial period

Newly registered providers start with a **free trial period**. A note at the top of the content area shows "Your trial period is about to expire" with the remaining days and the end date. Use **"Contact us now"** to book your plan. After it expires, the dialog "Trial period expired" appears when you open pages.

## Registering via a customer invitation

If a Standalone customer invites you as a supplier and your company doesn't use equipme yet, you receive an email with a registration link.

1. Open the link from the email and create your user account.
2. The wizard shows the steps "Customize your workspace" and "Set your location" (without the team members step).
3. After **"Done"** your company is created and directly connected with the inviting customer.

Your company gets **Lite access**: you look after exactly this one customer, the menu only shows "Sales" → "Customers", and there is no trial period. The differences to full Pro access are described under [Business models and licenses](/pro/getting-started/business-models.md#full-pro-access-and-lite-access).

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Already using Equipme Pro?** Don't register again. Instead, enter the customer's invitation ID under "Sales" → "Customers" → "Enter invitation ID". See [Connecting Standalone customers](/pro/customers/create-and-invite-customers.md#connecting-standalone-customers).
{% endhint %}

## Invited as an employee

If you were invited by your company, you don't need to register. Your administrator has already created you as a user (see [Users](/pro/administration/users.md)). Use the link from the invitation email and set your password.

## Sign in

1. Open the Equipme Pro address in your browser. Without an active session, you are redirected to the sign-in page.
2. Sign in with your email or username and password, or choose sign-in with Microsoft if single sign-on is set up.
3. If your profile is missing your first or last name, Equipme Pro asks you once to add them.
4. You land on your start page (see below).

### Single sign-on with Microsoft

With the direct SSO link you skip the sign-in form:

```
https://<equipme-pro-address>/sso?provider=microsoft
```

The setup is described under [Integrations](/pro/administration/integrations.md).

### Change password and sign-in details

Open the **user menu** (top right) → **"My account"**. Account management opens in a new tab. If you sign in via Microsoft SSO, you change your password at Microsoft.

## Start page after sign-in

Equipme Pro chooses the start page based on your permissions:

| You may …                                                                         | Start page                |

## Frequently asked questions

**After signing in I see "Not authorized".**

Your user has no role in Equipme Pro or belongs to a customer company instead of a provider. Customers work in the customer portal, not in Equipme Pro. As a provider employee, ask your administrator to assign you a role.

**Registration says my email address isn't allowed.**

Registrations with free email or disposable addresses are blocked. Use your business address.

**My trial period has expired. Is my data gone?**

No. Your data is kept. Get in touch via "Contact us now" or [support](/pro/help/support.md) to book your plan.

**Can my customers register via Equipme Pro?**

No. Customers register via the address of your customer portal or are created by you. See [Create and invite customers](/pro/customers/create-and-invite-customers.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://hub.equipme.io/pro/getting-started/sign-in-and-registration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
